Find a good balance when the weather is warmer in the fall and then add a degree or two. This should keep everyone warm while soaking.
Keep robes, slippers, and towels handy
Since the air around you is very cold, you will want to be sure that getting back to a temperature-controlled environment is as warm as possible. Keeping things like robes, towels, and slippers handy near the hot tub will ensure that you do not have to run through any ice or snow less than dressed!
