IHT in Highlands Ranch, CO
Like many parts of the Colorado Front Range, the first residents of the Highlands Ranch area were Native Americans. This area of Northern Douglas County was in the Louisiana Purchase when it was sold to the United States in 1803.
Much of the Denver Metro Area began to be settled as ranch land starting in 1859, but because of a lack of water in the area, it was not permanently settled until around 1870.
The Colorado Gold Rush brought people to Colorado in droves during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1978, a large parcel of land in unincorporated Douglas County was purchased and over the next 30 years as the suburbs of Denver expanded, the company built a new planned community, Highlands Ranch. It includes a snaking “green belt” which provided a large number of public parks and bike paths perfect for the outdoor lovers.
One of the famous landmarks, The Highlands Ranch Mansion (or “Castle Isabel”) was built over a period of several years, from 1891 to 1904. It has been renovated and available for special occasions.
Today Highlands Ranch residents are on the go biking, hiking and heading to the mountains in the winter for skiing. This active lifestyle makes Highlands Ranch the perfect area to own a hot tub or swim spa.
International Hot Tub opened their first Denver location in 1978 and soon outgrew their original space. They moved in to the current location on Broadway more than 30 years ago. The company was purchased in 2005, by Rich Hiner, who has currently been with IHT for 37 years: sales person, Manager, General Manager and current owner.
International Hot Tub opened a showroom in Highlands Ranch in 1986. It is currently the busiest showroom offering swim spas and hot tubs, as well as hearth products for those chilly Colorado winter nights. Whether you are shopping for electric, gas or traditional wood burning fireplace, we have a hearth product for you.
The IHT showroom also offers service after the sale with a complete selection of water care products, valet service and factory trained technicians to keep your hot tub or swim spa in tip-top shape.
Our Highlands Ranch showroom is conveniently located near Littleton and Centennial, CO at 2660 E County Line Rd. Shop in-showroom or schedule a private appointment. We also offer test soaking if you want to experience a relaxing soak before purchasing.
We also have showrooms in Denver at I-25 and 8th Ave, our Zuni St showroom, and Broadway, our discount showroom that offers reconditioned, refurbished, used and previously owned hot tubs. These showrooms are both just 30 minutes north of the Highlands Ranch location.
