Proper Care for Your Swim Spa

When you invest in an Endless Pools® swim spa, you invest in relaxation, health, and quality time with those you love. But along with that is an investment in the care of your swim spa. Keep your swim spa in top condition with these tips on proper care for your swim spa.

Do Frequent and Consistent Water Checks

Clean, crisp water is the key component of your swim spa. That’s why it’s important to invest time in proper water care each and every day. Even if you don’t get a chance to use your swim spa each day, plan a daily check of your water quality and chemical balance. When the chemicals aren’t in balance, it can create problems for both your swim spa and your skin.

Rinse Off Prior to Use

You see this when you visit a public pool. There are signs asking that swimmers rinse off before entering the water. But did you ever wonder why? It’s for the quality of the water. Most people’s skin has lotion, oil and other chemicals on it. These things can create build up and eventually harm the chemical balance of the water. Keep your water fresher for longer by asking bathers to do a quick rinse before entering your swim spa.

Care for Your Filter

The filter is what helps keep your swim spa fresh and clean. Make sure it can operate at its best by taking time to clean it each month. Start by spraying off the filter cartridge. You can also purchase a filter cleaner for more thorough cleaning.

Change the Water

To properly care for your swim spa, it’s important that you drain and refill it every three to six months. Depending on how many people regularly use your swim spa, you may need to adjust the timing of this. Changing out the water in your swim spa allows the chemicals to work better and helps keep the entire swim spa clean.

Keep It Simple

Caring for your water and swim spa doesn’t have to be a time-consuming chore. In fact, with a few simple steps you can make it a breeze.

  • Don’t wear lotions when you use your swim spa.
  • Stay stocked up on water care chemicals and supplies.
  • Use your eyes and nose to help monitor your swim spa. If you can’t see through the water clearly or it has an odor, it’s time to take action.
  • Protect your swim spa whenever you’re not using it. Invest in a quality swim spa cover to prevent debris from entering your swim spa or other factors from damaging it.
